Beveled Options: Shapes

Here are beveled squares, rectangles, diamonds, ovals, and circles that can be combined with other clusters or beveled shapes to create many effective designs.

The letters "GC" in a catalog number indicate that the surface of each beveled piece has been "glue-chipped", a process that adds a frost-on-the-window type texture to the face (only) of each beveled piece. This allows a beveled look but with a lot more privacy than with bevels that are not glue-chipped . The actual beveled edges of each glue-chipped piece of glass remain clear, untextured glass. However, these edges are at an angle to the plane of the window and thus add to the privacy factor in a different way. Clusters that come glue-chipped usually come in non-glue-chipped versions as well, and are usually shown next to each other.

The shapes shown immediately below can be combined to form all-beveled patterns, examples of which are shown in the second image down.

The next four images down show beveled rectangles in various lengths and widths. These make excellent border and background designs, although some small amount of custom beveling may be necessary to make a border composed of these rectangles come out to just the right size.

In the 3/4" and 1" wide rectangle series (the first two sections of the image immediately below), the beveled edges meet each other. This means there is no "face" or flat surface in these pieces, and makes these sizes particularly useful where privacy is needed. The glue-chipped bevels in the wider widths also add privacy. Some sizes also offer curved or mitered corner sets.

Diamond patterns in beveled glass are a popular and elegant option. The different proportions of diamonds are displayed below. Some sizes also have the "half-diamond" triangle shapes that can fill out an all-diamond pattern to an overall rectangular shape.

The clusters shown in the next two images are meant to add more design to a simple beveled border. The elements that have rectangular parts sticking out of them are designed to fit with the 1", 1.5", and 2" wide beveled rectangles show above. Some of the corner elements have no rectangular parts sticking out, and are meant to stand alone or be incorporated into border designs made of non-beveled glasses.

The designs shown in the next image below demonstrate how some of the corner elements shown above can be combined to form interesting centerpiece designs.

The next image shows elements that can make up 1" wide beveled circles of various diameters, or be combined with 1" wide rectangular pieces to form rounded corners on border designs.

The last image below shows 1.5" and 2" wide circles and ovals that can be incorporated into larger designs or act as a beveled border for circular and oval shaped artworks. All of these sets fit stock oak frames.
