 The
Corvette is
captured impressively in this freehanging piece of stained glass
automotive art, which is currently for sale. This piece is constructed
using the copper foil method (see the Craftsmanship Page for a detailed
explanation), and patina-ed a uniform charcoal gray. The word
"Corvette" is sandblasted into black-on-white flash glass. The
appearance of "lead lines" that appear to go nowhere is achieved by
lead overlays soldered to the front of the artwork. There is no wood
frame, so this artwork is strengthened by zinc came around the outer
edge and steel support bars on the back side that have been well hidden
by bending them to follow the outer edge.
Overall size is about 38
inches wide by 29 inches high. This Corvette, like all of my artworks,
is a one-of-a-kind piece and is perfectly crafted. It is ready to hang,
and comes with plenty of braided wire and screw-eyes for easy hanging
from your wood, metal, or
plaster sash window sill.
