 In
the winter of 2025 I
made two stained glass panels for a home in Waller, Texas, just outside
ot Houston.
The first panel was a recreation of an artwork I made for-sale in
the early 1990s (see the original here).
This 2025 version is mounted between sheets of safety glass in the
owners front door. He drove his front door to Denver in order to have
me install the stained glass and the sheets of safety glass for
him. That's his hand holding up the door in this photo.
The second panel I made for him
was
inspired by the movie What Dreams May Come. When he suggested
this
subject matter to me, I replied that the special effects in that movie
were created to make it look like the main charachter (played by Robin
Williams) was walking through a wet oil
painting. I pointed out that a wet oil painting was about as opposite
from stained glass as one could get because stained glass has a
discrete black line around every shape and is therfore not at all like
a wet oil painting. But clients want what they want and my task is
always to come up with designs that give them what they ask for. The
design I came up with is the artwork you see below. It is mounted in a
transom window above double sliding glass doors.

I will update this page with photos of these artworks installed if
the client remembers to send me post-installation photos.
