This piece of stained glass
Judaica, titled "The
Wailing Wall", is a free-hanging artwork that was sold at a
temple arts and crafts show. This artwork is copper foiled glass; a
method of construction that is required (versus lead) whenever the
design incorporates deeply convoluted forays of one glass into another,
such as the way the green glass is embedded in the yellow-brown glass.
The black lines on the tallis (prayer shawl) were
created by sandblasting black-on-white flash glass. This artwork was
framed in a natural oak wood frame, similar in size but lighter in
color than the border shown here. |
